What if there’s an issue with a building amplifier or a coax termination?

The install fees are negotiable, but I did get my current bill today with the new fees for packages. If the ingress from the house is bad enough they will either get fully disconnected or they will get a high pass paired to a 5-50 MHz trap and have zero upstream channels which essentially shuts off the internet and cable completely. If you want hard-wired [Internet] connections, then of course you must have "hard wire."

My house was built around 2005, though I've only owned it a year. If the building has access to cable TV (the provider has cable running to the side of the building) it probably has a line run already. You can get pre-cut Cat6 for not much money. I'll buy a long enough cat6 and compare the difference using the testing methods you described. My recommendation is place the modem as close to the coax connector at the wall as possible and run Cat5 or Cat6 where you need it. Currently, only one of them produces a broadband signal from our TWC service. They had only one upstream channel bonding because our high pass filters block from 25 MHz to 50 MHz @ 50db.

So I just moved into the third floor studio of my building this month and I just bought xfinity internet today and I was trying to connect to internet and I noticed it wasn’t connecting so I checked the coax cable and took out the bolts on the wall to see there is no cable connecting to the coax outlet is it my building managers job to have the coax cable put in or xfinity Absolute 100% false, those “twists and turns” have likely caused irreparable damage to the shielding on the coax line and it’s likely garbage now. Did you look for a cable splitter in the basement or utility room that has the line wire missing? It is very likely that the coax connection in your room is not configured for internet and the other one is. It might be in the attic, in the basement (if you have one), or is sometimes outside. Possibly. I believe that during your install Verizon would have installed a splitter if asked (my experience), but evidently that did not happen.

Older dishes used 4 wires to feed, later they swapped down to 1-2 wires so that probably explains the 2 disconnected.
